Best Bars in Newport, RI
Drink like a local in Newport!
Fastnet Pub
Fastnet Pub, named for the southernmost lighthouse in Ireland, overlooks one of Newport’s most bustling streets: Broadway. The perfect spot to get a few nightcaps after dinner at one of the many great restaurants on Broadway. A traditional Irish pub, Fastnet serves as a reminder of the warmth and customs of the old world and is a great spot to bring a date or a group of friends.
With great bar games like darts, pool, ping pong, and more, Fastnet offers over 30 draft beers, live music, and more. They also live stream sailing events, and on game nights they stream rugby and soccer games to cheer on large TVs throughout the bar.
Pour Judgement
Cross the street and visit Pour Judgement, another great speakeasy in the up-and-coming Broadway district. Founded in 2006 on a winning combination of craft beer, cheap (but delicious) pub eats, and friendly (or, at least, interesting) service. It’s a cozy spot, get there early to get a seat! Oh, and they have great live music!
Newport Blues Cafe
This high-energy nightclub is located inside an old bank and features some of the best rock & blues bands from all across the country! The perfect place to have a few drinks and dance the night away. Plus there’s an American cafe upstairs if you want some late-night food! One of the best spots for live music, this place is a must if you want a quintessential Newport night. Don’t forget to drink a lot of water before bed!
Brick Alley Pub & Restaurant
This iconic watering hole has fantastic eats ranging from nachos to lobster rolls (voted best lobster roll in America and more than 250 wine vintages! A Newport landmark, Brick Alley has been voted both Best Restaurant and Best Bar in Rhode Island. You better believe it – definitely worth a visit.
With more than 25 beers on tap and an extensive menu offering everything from burgers to fish tacos to lobster mac and cheese! Brick Alley is the perfect spot for a family dinner, a date, or a night out with your friends.
Fifth Element
Fifth Element is a must in Newport if you like quality dining, drinking, design, and thoughtful hospitality! Their menu is fabulous! We’d highly recommend their lamb poutine, the fifth burger, the bacon cheddar jalapeno pizza, or the miso ginger-glazed salmon. Don’t forget to save room for one of their delicious desserts like the flourless chocolate torte or port wine poached pear and brown butter cake.
