Best Bars Westerly RI
Westerly Rhode Island has a vibrant downtown, amazing beaches at Misqaumicut and the infamous Watch Hill RI but did you know that Westerly RI is home to many young, smart entrepreneurs that are bringing an amazing restaurant and bar scene to Westerly RI as well? I’m talking top of the line craft beer, martini bars, cigar bars, pinball bars… yes you read that right and bars that have become so popular they are now offering franchises.
Bars were considered on selection, variety, vibe and overall experience. Our list is in no particular order. Everyone has different taste but this is ours.
Andrea Beach Bar
The Andrea is an outdoor bar in Westerly located on Misquamicut Beach that keeps the party rockin all day and night. They have a great deck to sip drinks on thru the day and offer a variety of local bands for live entertainment. Get to the Andrea for a great time and if you had too much to drink, stay the night!
Brazen Hen
It’s ST. Paddy’s day every day at The Brazen Hen. Not literally but you feel like you’re walking into a bar in Ireland when you walk into this restaurant with the Gaelic theme and scriptures on the wall. The atmosphere is fun and lively and if you go here you mine as well have a Guinness or a few, no one is judging! The owner of this restaurant also has a few other local Irish bars in the area and they all have a similar feeling and great vibe to them. They offer live local entertainment on most nights and you won’t be disappointed. Take a trip to Ireland while in Westerly RI.
Bridge
Another favorite of the locals. Bridge has one of the best scenes in Westerly especially on their patio over the summer. Sunset on the patio…. Yes please!!!. Their staff is knowledgeable and eager to please. They have an extensive drink menu including top shelf whiskey, scotch and vodka. Bridge typically offers live entertainment and did we mention the patio. An awesome staff, great drinks, great atmosphere and yes that patio make Bridge one of the top bars in Westerly RI.
Corks & Perks
Another must see spot while in Westerly with plenty of parking in the rear. Bonus! Or should I say big bonus! If you are into martini’s Perk’s is serving up delicious Martini’s that will make your tongue sizzle and your body wiggle. They also serve coffee all day long and provide an environment allowing you to have fun with friends or focus on work. They have a delightful ambiance and a wide variety menu taking into account a variety of dietary needs.
Danny’s
This place might be our favorite place on the list. If you’re looking for a fancy place to take your significant other this is not your place. If you’re looking for the local neighborhood dive bar then you need to come here. If you don’t like to sit, you can play a game of pool, golden tee or shuffleboard. If you’re going to play shuffleboard bring you’re A game because the locals are good and very competitive.
Flip Side
Let me tell you what, this place is awesome and they are serious about pinball and drinking! They offer pinball leagues for people looking to do something fun, different or are hard core enthusiasts. They have a very unique craft beer selection that has something for everyone as well as a carefully selected wine list. They always seem to be planning an event as well. So get down here. Grey Sail Tap Room
Gray Sail is another very cool not only place but thing to happen to Westerly. Westerly has a lot of cool, very hip entrepreneurs bringing fantastic experiences to visitors and locals alike. They have renovated an old historic building next door to their brewery. They have plenty of beers to sample or drink your favorite. We like the Captains Daughter, but who doesn’t. Part of the craft beer boom their bottling operation continue to expand so if you can’t make it to the tap room call your local packy to see if they have any Grey Sail in stock. Stop in to the tap room for an awesome time with good people and support good local people!
The Malted Barley
The owners have done an amazing job of offering an extensive unique drink menu including plenty of craft beers on tap and amazing sandwiches that you crave more and more as the night goes on. They keep you entertained throughout your experience but the atmosphere will keep you coming back for more. These young entrepreneurs have started franchising their establishment so check them  out and if your interested get in touch!
Paddy’s Beach Club
What can you say about Paddy’s but on a warm summer day or night there is no other place you would want to be while visiting Westerly RI. Located right on Misqaumicut, Paddy’s is an all-around blast. Frozen drinks, big beers, several bars and live entertainment make Paddy’s a must see destination and something everyone must experience.
The Twisted Vine- Closed
One of the nicest atmospheres in Westerly. It’s a beautiful bar and restaurant with an upscale ambience specializing in ….. you guessed it, wine. If you’re a real wino we recommend joining them on Wednesday night for one of their wine tastings. However, you better call ahead of time and reserve a spot. If your into early afternoon drinks they have great happy hour specials.
Vintage Cigar Lounge & Club
A low key establishment in downtown perfect for the person who enjoys quiet time and a smoke. The owners continue to grow and expand offering plenty of spots to smoke and sit, a backroom for meetings or private parties and memberships for the frequent visitor.
Windjammer
Another spot on the beach in this awesome beach town. A great patio and wonderful view of block island. Not to mention plenty of people watching as well if you’re into that. This is the true definition of a surfer’s bar and makes you want to be here day or night in your bathing suit. We recommend relaxing in an Adirondack chair, putting your feet up on the wall and sipping on a Corona. Don’t forget to take a picture of your feet and beer!
84 Tavern on the Canal
This place does it right. If you want to go for great food. Yes they do that. If you want a great bar, yes they have that too. 84 always has a unique selection of drinks to choose from as well as drink specials. They are consistently packed and offer a great experience all around. Yes people come here for just the bar experience too!
