Matunuck Oyster Bar

By far the best seafood restaurant in South Kingstown and quite possibly all of Rhode Island, Matunuck Oyster Bar is not to be missed. Located right on one of South Kingtown’s salt ponds, this restaurant used to be sort of a hidden gem but now it’s become so popular that you might be waiting for 30 minutes or more for a table. But believe us, it is WELL worth every second of that wait. We’d recommend a dozen of the Matunuck oysters, harvested less than a mile from your table. We’d also recommend the pan seared scallops, the oysters trio, and the grilled Atlantic salmon. But honestly, you can’t go wrong at Matunuck Oyster Bar – everything on the menu is amazing.

Chophouse Grille

Chophouse is the perfect spot to bring a date or grab drinks with a friend. Their menu is extensive and has something for any craving you’ve got! The ambiance is spot-on. With an extensive menu, this place offers one of the best selections of seafood in Wakefield.

And it’s not just the oysters, they have an expansive menu of fresh seafood, salads, and sushi. Most of their items are available gluten free, including our fried foods. On Sundays they offer an incredible Sunday Brunch Menu with $5 House Bloody Marys & Mimosas. This vibrant waterfront location is the ideal hot spot to slurp an oyster, savor one of their signature entrées, or relax on the patio or dockside deck with a cocktail.

Ocean Mist

Another great spot to grab some tacos and a cold beer after a day at the beach, Ocean Mist is a local favorite! A kitchy, dive vibe, this place is hopping on the weekends when they have live music. If it’s warm enough, bring your drink out to the back deck to enjoy the views and ocean breezes. Everything on the menu is delicious, especially their tacos and wings! And don’t forget about brunch!

Jim’s Dock

This seafood eatery serves lobster rolls, chowder, and more in a casual harbor-side setting with a deck. Jim’s is unassuming but you can be darn sure that the seafood you’re enjoying was caught within the last 24 hours or so! They’ve got some of the freshest seafood around.
