Beehive Cafe: The Buzz of Bristol Since 2007

The Beehive Cafe, located in Bristol, Rhode Island is a buzzing spot that started off as more of a bakery and has evolved into more of a restaurant over the years since opening over ten years ago.

The owner of Beehive Cafe, Jen Cavallaro opened up the cafe in 2007. She was 47 at the time and was looking for a change of career. In the past, she had done some commercial baking, so had the experience to open up a bakery. When looking for a location for Beehive, she had a friend who owned the building she is in now and everything came together. When it first opened, it was pretty much just a coffee shop with coffee, pastries, homemade cookies, things like that. Over time, the coffee shop started evolving into more of a restaurant, and the menu broadened giving guests the option of picking up a quick coffee or sitting down for a full meal.

One of the most popular items at Beehive is the butternut squash sandwich. Other than that, all of the baked goods that they sell do really well for the cafe. They have brownies, lemon squares, banana bread (one of my personal favorites), and a ton more. They still have a broad selection of coffee to choose from along with breakfast items. Other than that, they have a lot of bigger meals offered if you want more than just a quick snack. They have full breakfast platters, some of which include fried eggs and pancakes, omelets, or french toast breakfast sandwiches like an egg sandwich or a breakfast burrito. They also have a lot of lunch and dinner options including sandwiches like a grilled cheese or BLT, salads, smoothies, even mac and cheese or baked eggplant. This cafe has come a long way from the coffee shop it started out as and has now turned into a full restaurant with a lot of great items for guests to choose from.

Beehive Cafe actually has two locations, the main location on Franklin Street in Bristol and the pantry on Gooding Avenue which is where they do all their baking. The weekends are the busiest day for the cafe, especially when there is nice weather. They are open every day from 7:30am-7:30pm except for Tuesdays and Wednesdays. They are also now having outdoor seating available and limited indoor seating. If you prefer to order online and pick up your food in-store, that is an option at Beehive and very easy to do. All you have to do is log on to their website and pick out what you want.

Beehive Cafe has been the buzz around Bristol for over 10 years now, and it’s no question why. They have great food options, from picking up a quick coffee and pastry on the way to work to sitting down and having a nice dinner. Whatever you’re in the mood for, Beehive Cafe has you covered.
