Best Beaches in Charlestown, RI

If you’re planning on vacationing in Charlestown RI this summer, you’re probably wondering which beaches are worth visiting most. While all of the beaches in Charlestown are gorgeous, some can offer more than others. To help you know which beaches to prioritize, here are the top five you should keep in mind.

East Beach (Charlestown)

East beach is wide, clean, and pristine. It’s everything that you think a beach should be. Wide enough to provide ample space between visitors, you won’t have to worry about overcrowding here. This location is perfect for laying out, building sandcastles, splashing in the waves, or taking a relaxing beach walk. For food and drink, the Small Axe Cafe is only half a mile away and serves both a great atmosphere and food.

Charlestown Beach

Located two miles from East Beach, this little town beach is another option to keep in mind. Situated on a clean and well-maintained stretch of coastline, this beach is perfect for families. With showers and restrooms easily available, and a vendor that doles out hotdogs and frozen lemonades, it’s got everything you need for the perfect beach day. The only downside is that it can get a bit crowded due to its popularity.

Blue Shutters Beach

Blue Shutters Beach has great views, great waves, and is perfect for both couples and families. Despite being a beautiful beach, it’s not overly crowded on weekdays, making it a great place for vacationers to relax by the sea. Bathrooms and changing rooms are also accessible onsite, so you can spend all day here without worry.

No Shortage of Great Beaches

Both Charlestown and the surrounding area are rife with amazing beaches. While these five top the list, you’ll be hard-pressed to have a bad time at any of the seaside locations here. The hardest part will be trying to find the time to see them all!
