Things To Do in Providence, RI: Date Night Edition
So, you’re looking for some fun places to go for your next date night in Providence. I’ve got you covered! Here are some ideas that you and your special someone are sure to enjoy.
Roger Williams Botanical Gardens
The Botanical Center at Roger Williams is the largest glasshouse display garden in New England. There is an abundance of different plants in the gardens that are absolutely breathtaking. The center opened in March of 2007 and includes two main greenhouses, two smaller greenhouses, and an outdoor garden with over 150 different species of plants. There are benches and tables throughout the greenhouse to hang out, and it is super quiet and relaxing. There is also a section of the garden called “open studio,” which provides a seating area for quiet reflection, chatting with friends, or enjoying a cup of coffee. This could be a great place to go for a date. Make sure you bring your cameras for this one because you’re going to want to snap a pic of the beautiful plants. There is more information about the gardens on their website.
What’s more romantic than taking a gondola trip through providence. The gondola tour starts at Citizens Plaza and lasts right around 40 minutes. You are allowed to bring your own snacks and drinks on the ride, so you have something to munch on while you’re enjoying the scenic views. There are lots of different ticket packages for the gondola ride, which you can find on their website.
of course, in the winter, The Providence Rink is a popular ice skating spot. But, did you know that The Providence Rink is actually open year-round and is open for roller skating during the warmer months. They also have a “Roller Disco ” on Thursdays and Fridays as well as movies on select Saturdays where you can watch a movie in front of a giant inflatable screen. All of these events are on their website, so make sure to check that out before you go to see when all these events are happening.
Muse Paintbar is such a fun date idea to test your artistic skills, (or if you are anything like me, lack thereof). Whether you’re a great artist or have a harder time with it, you can try out Muse Paintbar. There is also food and drinks available in the studio. This place is definitely worth checking out for your next date night.
