By far the best restaurant in South Kingstown, Matunuck Oyster Bar is not to be missed. Located right on one of South Kingstown’s salt ponds, this restaurant used to be sort of a hidden gem but now it’s become so popular that you might be waiting for 30 minutes or more for a table. But believe us, it is WELL worth every second of that wait. We’d recommend a dozen of the Matunuck oysters, harvested less than a mile from your table. We’d also recommend the pan-seared scallops, the oysters trio, and the grilled Atlantic salmon. But honestly, you can’t go wrong at Matunuck Oyster Bar – everything on the menu is amazing.
If you love unique twists on classic American food, Tilly’s in West Kingston is the place for you. The cozy atmosphere makes it the perfect place to grab lunch with friends! Looking for a recommendation? We love the cowboy beans & cheese, Tilly’s Philly, and the Texas Wedge. We’re drooling just thinking about it!
Pasquale’s Pizzeria Napoletana
Pasquale’s strives to honor the classic Neapolitan pizza where the integrity of handcrafted ingredients is paramount and it shows! Their fresh mozzarella is made by a Neapolitan artisan, cheese makers by generation in Campania, Italy, and now operating in NY. Their neapolitan crust is crafted in house only from “00” flour, fresh yeast and Sicilian sea salt. Fermented in two phases process for a healthier and more digestible pizza, using a made in Italy fork mixer and a lot of hand kneading.
Their pizza is cooked in a Neapolitan Artisan built oven at 850 Degrees for 60 seconds! Each pie is tended by a highly skilled and expertly trained Pizzaiolo. Get something off the Napoletana side of the menu – you won’t be disappointed.
Chophouse is the perfect spot to bring a date or grab drinks with a friend. Their menu is extensive and has something for any craving you’ve got! The ambiance is spot-on. And because it’s so close to the University of Rhode Island, it’s a great place to take your student during parent’s weekend or any weekend for that matter!
A legend amongst University of Rhode Island students, Mew’s Tavern is the place to be on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night. Or really any night for that matter. Delicious pub fare and the most beers on tap in South Kingstown, Mew’s is a local favorite. The menu is huge but we love the pink panther calzone, the cheeseburger pizza, and any of the salads!
It can be hard to find delicious smoked meats outside of the south but fortunately, we’ve got the Flatts! Their menu is delicious and everything is incredibly affordable. It’s a cozy, quaint restaurant and bar, perfect for a date or a lunch meeting. We’d recommend the bruben sandwich, Dick’s mac and meat bowl, and the frickles. So delicious!
