Best Coffee Shops in North Kingstown, RI
North Kingstown is home to a variety of wonderful restaurants, no matter what you’re craving. Whether it’s morning or afternoon, if you need your coffee fix, you’ve got some great options that are locally owned and delightfully franchise-free!
Jitter’s is a cozy Rhode Island favorite that’s perfect for a quick cup of coffee and a pastry or a breakfast wrap to go. If I’m just jonesing for a little chocolate-y goodness, I grab an iced mochachino. If I’m hungry, I go for the Egg Cheese Bacon and Potato wrap – and I never miss an opportunity to add avocado!
Rome Point Cafe is a welcoming diner-style restaurant that’s perfect for those days when you sleep in and miss the more traditional window of time for breakfast – happily, they serve it all day! You can enjoy some truly lovely breakfast options accompanied by an eye-opener in the form of a hot or iced coffee at your convenience. If you overslept and are now over-hungry (or you’re just someone with a hearty appetite like me!), go for the Skipper, which is their combo of two eggs, bacon, sausage, and ham, home fries or hash browns, toast, two pancakes or two pieces of French toast.
Shayna’s Place is mostly known as a sandwich shop (in fact, it was recently voted one of the top 50 in the country by Yelp!) but if you’re searching for an afternoon pick-me-up in the form of a snack and beverage, you won’t be disappointed by their hot or iced coffee. They even carry Nitro Cold Brew! Shayna herself is described as being the ultimate foodie and has developed an extraordinarily diverse palate that covers the spectrum of taste and cultures. She has Down Syndrome, but her family calls it Up Syndrome because of how positive, uplifting, eager, and inspiring Shayna is on a daily basis. If you’re looking for a sandwich recommendation to go along with your Nitro Cold Brew bev, you have to go for the Gilbert Stuart (named after a local and historic artist who is responsible for George Washington’s face on the $1 bill!), which combines roasted turkey, sprouts, sharp cheddar, sliced green apple, cranberry chutney, romaine and mayo on ciabatta.
Something Brewing is a quaint little coffee shop located on Post Road. They’re proud to serve organic and locally roasted coffee with tons of brewed-in flavors for customers to try. of course, this list focuses primarily on coffee, but I would be remiss if I didn’t recommend you try their chai, which is blended perfectly with your choice of milk to create a decadent treat. If you want something small to nosh on, just grab a Cranberry Orange Walnut Muffin. If you’re a little more peckish, go for the NK – a specialty sandwich made with ham, turkey, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and honey mustard.
