Outer Light Brewing Company is amongst the finest of Groton’s emerging brewery scene. Steps away from the Thames River waterfront, Outer Light was established in 2013 and has been providing tasty suds to both locals and visitors alike. Outer Lights built its reputation off its four classic brews: Subduction IPA, Lonesome Boatman Amber Ale, Libation Propaganda Stout, and Cloudbreak Double IPA. The Subduction IPA in particular is a popular favorite for its crisp, hoppy balance: perfect for a post-hike sip.
When the pandemic struck, Outer Light, like many other businesses, was thrown into a chaotic scramble to adapt to changing times. Their hoppy perseverance paid off and they emerged triumphantly! Now bearing charcuterie plates, heated outdoor seating, and homemade popcorn, Outer Lights operated throughout the troubled winter of ‘21. Their dedication provided a safe refuge of socially distant drinking when it was needed most…Now that the snow is thawed, Outer Lights is ready to welcome both locals and travelers ready to shake the spring rain off with a frosty flight!

Lemon Drop Lager brings the summer to you with its refreshing citrus qualities. A great yard work beer and the best go-to for warmer days. For sour lovers, Plummet from the Summit Kettle Sour Ale and Shoregasm Gose-Style Ale offer a fascinating array of flavorful sensations. The brews Bake Shop Ale and Social Oasis Neipa DDH are recent representations of Outer Light’s partnership with other local businesses to produce unique beers by celebrating local ingredients. The mild blueberry notes of Bake Shop Ale will go great with any manner of warm pastries from Sift. This is but a handful of Outer Light’s seasonal selections.
