Best Pizza in New London, CT

Sometimes pizza is what you’re craving, sometimes it’s the great peace-maker when you can’t agree on what else to order. Classic, customizable, and readily available in most towns and cities, it’s never the wrong choice. Next time you’re in New London, be sure to check out some of the following places for some of the best pizza around! Whether you’re the classic type or someone who likes to experiment with different flavor profiles and textures, you’re sure to find something to love at any of these local spots.

2 Wives Brick Oven Pizza features award-winning, brick-oven Neapolitan-style pizza, alongside fresh pasta, salads, and Italian bread sandwiches in a casual dinner atmosphere, conveniently located in the heart of historic downtown, New London. Their spacious, open-air dining room and outdoor patio is the ideal place to bring friends and family together, even during Covid times. There’s plenty of options to choose from, including a rotation of special, but we recommend these three unique pies – Matt’s Pear (sliced pears with provolone and gorgonzola cheese topped with crushed walnuts), Thai Chicken (grilled chicken, peanut sauce, bok choy, carrots, wild mushrooms, red onion, mozzarella cheese topped with peanuts and sweet hot chili sauce), or the Surf n Turf (shrimp, steak, roasted garlic, spinach, red onion, mozzarella and parmesan cheese).

Napolitano’s is known for its traditional Italian cuisine and “New Style” pizza. They pride themselves on only using the best ingredients to prepare their pizzas, subs, and pastas, and promise that you will never be disappointed with an order. To help ensure the highest quality, they also make their own ricotta and mozzarella cheese! Classic and delicious toppings abound but we recommend the Kelly, which is a cheese pizza topped with house-made hickory smoked bacon and candied jalapenos.

Ocean Pizza Restaurant and Seafood House has been a destination for gourmet pizza and other Italian- and Greek-inspired dishes since 1962. What began as a family restaurant has remained just that for over half a century, growing in reputation over the years, winning competitions for best pizza and even getting praise and attention from the New York Times. Known for its high quality, huge portions, and low prices, there are no wrong choices when it comes to selecting a pizza here, but we recommend the garlic portabella mushroom!

Pizzarama Drive In is a landmark for what many in the area consider the most flavorful pizza and grinders. Family owned and operated since 1962 (a popular year for starting a pizzeria, it seems!), they are proud to offer “pizza pies with personality,” in their own unique style, with the base recipe dating back to its first year. Keep it classic or experiment a little with your toppings – if you want to double down on your carbs, you can do that here – get a spaghetti-topped pizza!
