Harry’s Burger: Burgers, Shakes, and Fries Galore
Where can you get a yummy burger for only $6? Yes, you heard it right. At Harry’s Bar and Burger, you can get a variety of different foods for around $6-$7. I had never been to Harry’s before my visit last week and to be honest I didn’t really know what to expect. The reason I was drawn to it was because on their website, they have a ton of awards and recognition. One that stood out to me was “best burgers in Rhode Island,” by the Big 7, where Harry’s was rated number one. There’s a bunch of recognition like this one on their website, so I thought I needed to try it for myself.
When I got there, my eyes immediately went to the milkshakes part of the menu. I had no idea that they had milkshakes so I knew I had to try one. They had such creative flavors like Twinkie Caramel, Cookie Monster, and S’mores. I got the Cookie Monster one and it was a solid 10 out of 10. They also have a lot of hard shakes which is really interesting, including coffee, oreo, and s’mores. I want to go back and try them all.
Also, the burgers looked small and like they weren’t going to fill me up. But, these burgers were surprisingly filling. All of the burgers come with two sliders, and you can add a third if you would like. I got the crunch burger which was absolutely delicious. They have so many options too like the bacon cheeseburger, pastrami burger and sloppy harry chili burger. They don’t just have burgers though. They also have hot dogs, sandwiches, fries, nachos, and wings.
Apart from the food, I also really liked the atmosphere of Harry’s. I could tell that there were some regulars visiting that night and the waiter was so excited to see them come in. Everyone was super friendly and everyone seemed like they were having a great time. The dining area was pretty small, which I think is nice sometimes because it gives the restaurant a more homey feel.
There are multiple Harry locations all around Rhode Island, including a location in Newport, Lincoln, Federal Hill (which was the one I visited), and the original location which is also in Providence.
I really liked going to Harry’s and it is definitely a place that I will be visiting again to try even more of the food and shakes. It’s such a fun place to go and I am so glad that I got to check it out.
