About the Author
Kelsey A. Fuller-Shafer completed her Ph.D. in ethnomusicology at the University of Colorado Boulder. Her doctoral research focused on contemporary popular music, gender studies, and political commentary of Sámi (the Indigenous peoples of northern Fenno-Scandinavia) artists and scholars. She has guest lectured at several universities and presented research at numerous conferences and symposia in both the United States and Sweden on subjects ranging from Swedish jazz to Sami pop, and from Norse myth to Eurovision. Kelsey has broad teaching experience that includes courses in music, language, literature, folklore, and Nordic history at the University of Colorado Boulder and Augustana College. She has also worked as a library and archives assistant in the Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center. Kelsey is currently serving as the Access Services Supervisor at the DiMenna-Nyselius Library at Fairfield University. Calling various parts of New England home, Kelsey is originally from Connecticut and earned her B.A. in music from Eastern Connecticut State University.
