Best Seafood Restaurants in Greenwich, CT

Greenwich is home to some of the finest restaurants in Connecticut, and among them are some truly prime destinations for seafood. Whether you’re visiting Greenwich for the first time or you find yourself there frequently, we’ve narrowed it down to a few favorites that focus on preparing and serving a variety of ocean fare.

Blackstones Steakhouse is a stylish restaurant that embraces the sophistication of the city and the warmth of the suburbs, in an eclectic and contemporary setting that makes it the ideal spot for any occasion – business dinners, cocktails with friends, or a romantic date night. Being a steakhouse, of course seafood is not the only option for you here, but their selection is not to be missed. It’s not for everyone but I always rejoice when I discover escargot on a menu, and Blackstones serves Escargot Bourguignon with aromatic garlic and shallot pernod butter. If snails are not your thing, go for the Lemon Pepper Shrimp as an appetizer instead, or select something from their raw bar! For dinner, I can’t get enough of the Diver Sea Scallops served with baby vegetables and lemon risotto.

Polpo Restaurant and Saloon was opened by Ron Rosa in Greenwich over two decades ago and has since built a reputation for specializing in family recipes and regional dishes from Ron’s native Calabria as well as neighboring Tuscany and Milano. Known as one of the best Italian restaurants in the tristate area, Polpo is a fixture in Greenwich and cannot be missed. Start with the Grilled Polpo (Mediterranean octopus, cannellini beans and arugula) or chopped Yellowfin Tuna Tartare served with Wasabi aioli. For an entree, I love to dive into some Cappellini Scoglio, served with lobster, crabmeat, and shrimp in a fish broth.

Mediterraneo’s cuisine is inspired by Old World flavors, expertly prepared using premium ingredients, and can be enjoyed by visitors in an environment infused with the colors of Tuscany. Bathed in the soothing tones of sand and sea, the restaurant features an inviting outdoor terrace and a contemporary dining room where soft, undulating lines mirror ocean waves. This elegant nautical theme is carried over to the menu, which highlights fresh, succulent seafood as well as elevated Italian favorites. Start with some grilled squid, served with shaved fennel, radish, cherry tomatoes, lemon, and olive oil and then go straight for the salmon – they offer Faroe Island or Ora King, with grilled asparagus, beets, and ramp gremolata.

Elm Street Oyster House is located in the heart of Greenwich and continues to be one of the most critically acclaimed seafood restaurants in Connecticut. I’m wild about the combination of creamy avocado and fresh seafood, so Elm Street Oyster House has two excellent options for me in the form of a Crabmeat and Guacamole Stack or a Tuna and Avocado Poké bowl. For dinner, I recommend the Chili Rub Grill with halibut, shrimp, scallops, and pineapple mango relish, served with vegetable couscous and asparagus.

Miku Sushi gets its name from the word for “beautiful moment,” which is what the staff there strives to create for every customer by offering an exquisite menu inspired by traditional Japanese cuisine. They are known for their seasonal menus, guest chef appearances, and exclusive whiskey and sake tastings, and they source their fish from the world famous Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo, Japan. Share some Miso Chilean Seabass with your tablemates and be sure to order a couple of their Special Rolls, either to savor or share. The Lonely Angel Roll features black pepper tuna and asparagus topped with tuna, salmon, eel, yellowtail, crunchy and different flavors of tobiko, and is served with honey wasabi sauce, while their Rock N Roll is a fun take on surf-and-turf with rock shrimp and avocado inside and seared Kobe beef on top.
